Elena Luo

Hey there，
 
This is Liqiong Luo (Elena). I'm 27 seven years old, working in CITS Lijiang.  I grew up in a Yi family in the countryside of the southeast Yunnan, with my parents, sister and brother. There is a saying that people who grew up in the countryside smells the earth, no matter where we go, how well we dress. It is also the earthen smell that has been leading me to be where i am: working as a local tour guide in Lijiang, where it's gifted with beautiful mountains, rivers and the clearest sky.

Graduated from the foreign language school of Yunnan Normal University in 2005, i was ready to give a try of being a teacher, and to explore the outer world. So i applied a teaching job from the Office of Chinese Language Council International.

In May 2, 2005, i started teaching Chinese to Thai children in Nongkhai, northern Thailand. The two years teaching experience was more a lesson to me. It is from there i started learning all kinds of lessons of life, to be independent, tolerate, appreciating, etc; from there i started seeing and reading China away from China; from there i met yoga and meditation, which opened a new window to my life later on.

In July, 2007, after taking some certain training courses, i settled down in Lijiang, working as a local tour guide, and started building up a new life in this peaceful, shining land. Everyday i still quite enjoy the water and sunshine in Lijiang, and the love, peace and joy in every corner.
