Trip Highlights:
The Yunnan-Vietnam Railway was a 855 km railway built by France during 1904-1910, connecting Haiphong,Vietnam with Kunming, Yunnan. Now the old railway is out of the use in Yunnan, the gorverment is building the New Yunnan-Vietnam Railway which is one part of the Trans-Asian Railway from Singapore to Vietnam and China. You will visit Dali,Lijiang and Shangri-La in the western Yunnan first, then visit Kunming, the Stone Forest, Jianshui Anient Town, Mengzi County, Yuanyang Hani Rice Terraces, and Hekou County along the Sino-Vietnamese Railway. You will enter Vietnam from Hekou Border. In Laocai, you will take the train to Hanoi, that is one part of the Sino-Vietnamese Railway. You will visit the Halong Bay in Hanoi, and take the junk boat cruise in Ha Long Bay. Finish the trip in Hanoi, this trip will take you to experience different countries with exotic ethnic culture.

    Note

    The economy-class airfare of China flights as specified in the itinerary.
    The hotel/cruise accommodation is based on two persons sharing one standard twin room/cabin with private facilities in all relevant locations. If a single client requests a twin room/cabin alone, the single room/cabin supplement will be charged.
    For the land tour in each city, daily American breakfast is served in the hotel, and Chinese lunch and/or dinner will be served with two cups of soft drink outside the hotel. All meal arrangements are served as the itinerary specifies.
    On the cruise daily American breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. The beverage arrangements are subject to policies.

1. Altitude Sickness:

Yunnan is a mountainous Province with high elevation. Sometimes people maybe suffer from the altitude sickness, you should drink much water,walk slowly and have much more rest. The elevations of Yunnan are as follows: Kunming(1895M),Dali(1976M),Lijiang(2416M),Shangrila(3280M).

 

2. Ethnic Folk Customs:

Please respect the local ethnic culture when you visit China. There are 55 ethnic minorities in China, you can find 52 of them in Yunnan Province. In this tour, you will experience Bai, Yi, Naxi, Tibetan,Mosuo minorities. You can learn more information about them from "Yunnan Ethnic Minorities".

 

3. Service Tipping
Giving a tip to someone who serves is a token of gratitude for a job well done.For the person who provides the service, their tip is often a large part of their income.Therefore, it is assumed they will do their best job to get the best tip possible.Unfortunately service tends to fall short quite often and then servers become insulted when the tip does not measure up to their expectations.

 

As the time flies to 21 century, tipping is no longer illegal in China since 1980s. Tipping for tour guides and drivers in recognition of their good service has become a common practice. Hotel bellboys and house keepers expect your tips as well. It is not customary to leave tips at hotel or local restaurants as the bill usually includes 10-15% service charge. 

.Yunnan Adventure Travel does not include tipping in our quotation as tipping is a personal matter. If you don't know what the proper amount for tipping would be, the following standard is for your reference:

 

•If you are traveling in a small party like 2 to 5 members, We suggest approximately US $8 to US $10 /per guest per day as tips for tour guide and US $4 to US $6 for the driver and about US $2 to US $3 for hotel bellboys as a gratitude for their service.

 

For example, if 2 of you are traveling together and will stay in Beijing for 3 nights, the tip from both of you may be from US$48 to US$60 for the tour guide, US$24 to US$36 for the driver. But, for active tours like hiking, biking, rafting, we suggest you double the tipping.

 

•If you are traveling in a party like 6 to 9 members, We suggest US $6 to US $8 /per guest per day as tips for the tour guide and US $3 to US $5 for the driver and about US $1 to US $2 for hotel bellboys as a gratitude for their service.

 

•If you are traveling in a group with more than 10 people, We suggest US $3 to US $5 /per guest per day as tips for the tour guide and US $2 to US $3 for the driver and about US $3 to US $5 for hotel bellboys as a gratitude for their service.

 

The above is for your reference only, again tipping is a personal matter, you can always adjust the amount based on your satisfaction with the service you get from your tour guides, drivers, bellboys and so on.

 

4. Weather and Climate:

Yunnan is very nice to travel all the year around. From Kunmin to Shangri-La, you will experience different climate from 1900 to 3400meters above the sea level.

 

5.Tips for Photography fans
The unique high attitude, exotic culture, highland landscapes and friendly people in Tibet and Yunnan offer perfect photo oppotunities to all those foreign tourists. Here are some helpful tips for travelers with a hope of photography.

 

Take necessary technical precautions to protect your camera in case of extreme temperatures due to the harsh climate. It's a good idea to take enough film and batteries. Photographing in monasteries is generally allowed; however taking pictures inside the chapels is forbidden or usually charged at extremely high rates to prevent photography. However, Drepung Monastery allows inside photography and charges no fee.

 

Respect the person you invite to take picture and avoid to disturb them. If it is necessary, you can send them some tiny presents, which is much better than giving them money.If there are some avaricious guys asking you for money when you take pictures in public places. You can refuse to pay money strictly. To take pictures in the hall of the monastery, do remember to ask the lama or monks for permit.

Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner.

 

Breakfast - Each breakfast will be served in your hotel. Breakfast selections include both Chinese and Western dishes to meet every diner's taste.


Lunch - Lunches are normally arranged at the Chinese restaurants near the scenic spots. Your tour guides will order food according to your appetite. Most are Chinese dishes, and some are modified to fit westerners' tastes. A complimentary glass of beer or soft drink is served with lunch.


Dinner - Same as lunch. If you prefer to not eat Chinese food, China Odyssey Tours suggests you have dinner on your own. Your local tour guide can recommend some good western restaurants in the area.

 

Some Question and Answers about Meals in China:


Are the meals shown in the itinerary pre-arranged or could we make our own orders when we sit down at the table?

 

Answer: To guarantee the hygiene and quality, most of the meals are pre-arranged in the government approved restaurants, which are all set-menu meals. You can not make your own orders at this point. We also arrange a la carte meals in some restaurants, which have been inspected by the management of our company. If you have special requirements for meals, please inform us before the tour starts so we can make relevant arrangements.

 

What kind of meals will be available on tour?


Answer: All breakfasts are served at your hotel with western style buffet including fruits, cold and hot cereals, Chinese dim sum etc. Lunch and dinner are usually Chinese food. Each lunch and dinner will be offered with two cups of soft drink free of charge.


Do you provide vegetarian (including no chicken or seafood) meals?


Answer: Yes, we do provide vegetarian meals if required. We always respect the clients' dietetic habits and try our best to cater to their needs. But we would like to explain that if you are not on a private tour, you will have to share the vegetarian dishes with other members of the group.


Do we share large tables with other people?

Answer: If you are on a private tour, you will have your own table, but if you join in a group tour you will have to share a large table with other members of your group.


Can I arrange my own meals rather than the pre-arranged restaurants in the tours?


Answer: Yes, you can but we do not suggest you do so.

Firstly the restaurants we arrange are all approved by the national tourism administration or local tourism bureau and therefore are reliable in terms of hygiene and quality. Secondly, we arrange good restaurants located the closest to the place you will visit, that is to say, we will save time spent in transit and allow you the maximum time to enjoy your sightseeing as well as your meal. If you prefer to find a restaurant yourselves, you might not be able to find a reliable one with good quality because you are not familiar with local area. You might also sacrifice valuable eating and sightseeing time searching for a restaurant.


What are the suggestions for dinners that are not included in the program?


Answer: Besides some unique meals, like roast duck, we leave almost all dinners to discover for yourselves. You do not need to worry, however, about where or what to have for dinner. In each city, there are good things to eat and you only need to ask for suggestions from your local guide. Please always remember to choose a restaurant respected for its hygiene and quality.


China is a country of good food and there are eight main cuisines. Make sure to try some of these typical dishes when you have time.


Can you give us an idea of how much Chinese Yuan we will need for meals during our tour? Do they accept credit cards?


Answer: The meal price depends on the grade of the restaurant you choose and the dishes you order. Credit cards are only accepted in large hotels. In most of the restaurants in China, Chinese Yuan is more popular. In order to avoid embarrassment, we advise you to ask whether credit card is accepted before making an order.

Black Taxis and Vans
Probably the first scam you will face begins at the airport or train station with the black taxi drivers - people with unlicensed vehicles that will offer to take you to your destination. Anyone with a Western face will almost certainly be approached by someone coming up to you and saying Taxi! - do not even talk to these people. At the train station, follow the Taxi signs outside to find a line of legal taxis, and make sure that they start the meter when you begin your journey. At the airport, directly outside of the arrival terminal you will find a line of legal taxis to take for the 30-45 minute trip into the city of Beijing. If you have any doubt as to whether it is a legal taxi or not, check the license plate on the back of the taxi. Around some hotels, airports, bus stations, railway station, you will find some drivers can speak a little English and let you take their cars with lower price, because they  use the "Black Cars"(黑车) in Chinese. Do not take these cheap cars, they do not buy any insurance for the illeagle vans and not get the certificate of tourist van from the goverment, especially you can not get a good service from them.

Day 1 Arrive in Kunming (D)

Flight Information:
You'll begin your journey to the diverse and captivating province of Yunnan from the capital city, Kunming. Upon arrival at the Kunming International Airport, your local guide will meet us. And then you will be transferred to your hotel.
 
If time permits, visit the landmark of Kunming-the Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway, which is located at the corner of Sanshi Road and Jinbi Road. And then, you will take a leisurely stroll along the Green Lake, a charming area of teahouses and small boutiques selling handicrafts and beautiful local paintings. Visit the Flower and Bird Market in the late afternoon.
 
--Kunming is the capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, a primarily agricultural province of 45 million. Kunming has a population of five million and is located in one of the world's most geographically, ethnically, biologically and linguistically diverse regions. Situated at 1,900 meters (6,233ft) above sea level and 25° north of the Equator it has a rather unique and pleasant climate for a Chinese city.

Day 2 Kunming (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Western Hills, Dianchi Lake, Yunnan Ethnic Village, Yunnan Nationalities Museum
Special Experience:Enjoy the large-scale dance drama "Dynamic Yunnan" in Kunming People's Hall (show time: from 20:00-21:30).
Drive to the Western Hill at the bank of Dianchi Lake, do some walking in the forest and visit Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Anti-Japanese Monument, Nier's Tomb; take the chairlift to visit Sanqing Pavilion,Dragon Gate Grottoes. From the Dragon Gate, you will have a panoramic view of Dianchi Lake which is the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan and the sixth largest one in China.
 
Take the chairlift over the Dianchi Lake from the Western Hill to Yunnan Ethnic Villages where you will enjoy the 25 ethnic minorities culture in the park. Each of the 26 ethnic peoples of Yunnan has a village built on the premises, and there will also be a square symbolizing unity among various ethnic oroups, a theatre for the performance of ethnic songs and dances, a folklore museum, and a museum of ethnic waxworks. Visit the Yunnan Nationalities Museum at last.

At night , you will have an option activity to enjoy the large-scale dance drama "Dynamic Yunnan" in Kunming People's Hall (show time: from 20:00-21:30).
 

Day 3 Kunming - Shangri La (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the Bita Lake & Shudu Lake, Dukezong Ancient Town and the Guishan Park
Special Experience:Taste the butter oil and Tibetan food, Tibetan home-made.
Take the morning flight to Shangri-La, you'll visit the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan. And afterwards you'll go and visit the tranquil Bita Lake & Shudu Lake. After having finished touring the Bita Lake & Shudu Lake, you'll visit the Old Town of Shangri La and the Guishan Park.

-- The word "Shangri-la" first appeared in its westernized form in James Hilton's novel The Lost Horizon. This book tells the story of three American pilots who, when flying over the Sino-Indian air route during World War II, crash-land in the midst a beautiful landscape. This place of tranquility and peace is described as having "Snow Mountains, grasslands, Tibetan people, red soil plateaus, with three rivers flowing traversing the landscape". After being rescued by the local Tibetan people, the three American pilots finally return home.

Day 4 Shangri La-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Lijiang  (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the First Bend of the Yangtze River, Shigu Town, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lijiang Old Town
Special Experience:Enjoy Naxi Orchestral and Show in Lijiang Ancient Town at night
From Shangri-La, you'll drive about 100KM to the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because you can find gold in the river. Afternoon, you'll head for Shangri La, the former Zhongdian. Upon arrival in Shangri La, you will have entered the Tibetan cultural area and a landscape of barley fields and yaks scattered in the valleys.
 
After lunch continue the driving 50KM more to visit the First Bend on the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, and the Iron Chain Bridge in the Stone Drum town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley which is filled with wheat fields and drying haystacks.

Drive 60KM more to Lijiang. Explore Lijiang Ancient Town at night. After dinner, you will attend the Naxi Orchestral and Show in Lijiang Ancient Town.

 

Day 5 Lijiang-Jade Dragon Snow Mountain-Lijiang (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Yulong Snow Mountain, the Yak Meadow, Baisha Village, Black Dragon Pool and the Dongba Museum
Special Experience:Enjoy Impression Lijiang Ethnic Show in the outdoors theater of Ganhaizi Meadow(3100M)
Enjoy the sunrise of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the early morning, then drive about 30KM to Ganhaizi Meadow(3100M), from Ganhaizi Meadow Parking Lot, you will change the sightseeing bus to take the chairlift for visiting the Yak Meadow(3700M), Spruce Meadow(3200M) or Glacier Park(4506M). The cableway will be arranged according to the weather condition and your request.
 
On the way back, take a visit to visit Baishui River or White Water River, which is well-known as the "Little Jiuzhaigou". The  water of Baishuihe River is from the Glacier Park of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain,so that it is extremely clean and crystal. You will have an option to enjoy the Impression Lijiang Ethnic Show directed by Zhang Yimou in the outdoors theater of Ganhaizi Meadow(3100M). In the afternoon, you'll stroll through Baisha Village, which is an enchanting traditional Yunnan village; you’ll head for the scenic Black Dragon Pool and the Dongba Museum to explore the rich Naxi minority culture.
 
--Jade Dragon Snow Mountain stretches a length of 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a width of 20 kilometers (13 miles). Looking from Lijiang Old Town in the south which is 15 kilometers (nine miles) away, the snow-covered and fog-enlaced mountain resembles a jade dragon lying in the clouds, hence, the name Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The highest peak named Fan Peak (Shanzidou in Chinese) which is about 5596 meters above sea level. There are three cable cars in the mountain, the fist to the Glacier Park (4500M),the second to Spruce Meadow(3200M),the third to Yak Meadow(3700M).
 

Day 6 Lijiang-Dali by private van (B+L+D)

Special Experience:Taste the Bai Three-Course Tea and enjoy Tea Art with ethnic dance and music in Xizhou
After breakfast, travel (200 km - 4 hrs) south on the old road to the ancient city of Dali. Dali, a historically and culturally famous city of China, is renowned for her historical interest. If this day happens to fall on a Monday you will call in at Shaping for a visit to the colorful Bai market.
 
Before Dali Ancient Town, you will visit Xizhou Ancient Town to fully appreciate Bai-style architecture, taste their fragrant three-course tea and explore their distinctive culture. Drive 10 KM more to visit Zhoucheng Town, where you will experience how Bai people make the Tie-Dyed Cloth in the work shop. --Dali Ancient Town
History of Dali Ancient Town can be dates back to 1382 during the Ming Dynasty and it has been listed among the top historic cities of China.The town's layout was uniform, with five main streets from south to north and eight main streets from east to west, while marketplaces were neatly arranged within the town, which has remained unchanged to this date. Besides the Bai houses, the houses with gray-green roof tiles, peculiar workshops, temples, schools and churches with antique flavor are scattered.

Day 7 Dali (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the Three Pagodas in Chongshen Monastery, Erhai Lake Cruise, City Wall of Dali Ancient Town, the Foreigner Street
 
After breakfast, drive to Caicun Port of Erhai Lake, 10 kilometers away from Dali Ancient Town.You will take the small boat cruise to Erhai Lake, after one hour cruising, you arrive in Jinsuo Islet. After landing, you will visit the Elementary School, the local ethnic hourses and Benzhu Temple as well as a Bai ethnic home visiting.

After the cruise in Erhai Lake, you will visit the Three Pagodas in Chongshen Temple, which is a typical historical symbol of Yunnan. It is also one of the oldest sublime architecture in South China. At night, you walk around the Dali Ancient Town and enjoy the night view.
-- --Erhai Lake is the largest highland lake next to Dianchi and one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. It means, 'sea shaped like an ear', in Chinese. Implying that the lake is ear shaped and as large as a sea, hence it was so named. The lake covers an area of 250 square kilometers and is located about two kilometers east of Dali. It is like a crescent lying between Cangshan and Dali city as seen from Cangshan Mount.

Day 8 Dali- Kunming-Stone Forest-Jianshui(B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the Stone Forest, Jianshui Ancient Town
 
Take the flight to Kunming in the morning. You will drive 86 km to the Stone Forest. There is a local saying: 'It is a waste of time not to visit the Stone Forest while visiting Kunming', which vividly expresses the deep love of the local people toward this world wonder. The quintessential karst landscape makes every tourist lost in wonder. 
 
After the Stone Forest, you will drive about 3 hours to Jianshui. Visit Jianshui Ancient Town in the late afternoon.

Day 9 Jianshui  (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Zhu Family Garden, Chaoyang Tower, Tuanshan Village, Double Double Dragon Bridge, the Old Wells
 
--The Chaoyang Gateway Arch
Built in 1389Ad, it stands in the center of city as  the symbol of this ancient military town in the southeast border and an emblem of Jianshui,a historic and cultural city. Its significance to Jianshui is the same as that of Tian' Anmen to Beijing.The Arch was built as the town's east gate tower (The Yinghui Gate). Through 600 years' vicissitude, the Chaoyang Gateway Arch is the only extant tower. Today, it is a public cultural center of Jianshui County.
 
--Zhu Family Garden
With a total area of 20k sqkm and a floor space of 5k sqkm, The grand complex is a typical local residence with distinctive features.As it was built by Zhu brothers in the late Qing Dynasty,it got the name "the Private Garden of the Zhu Family.
 
--Shuanglong Bridge(Twin Dragons)  - 3km west of Jianshui, the 17-Arch Bridge arches across the confluence of the Lujiang River and the Tachong River. Although the 17 spans were built in different eras, they matched perfectly, with 3-storied pavilion sitting in the middle and 2 at the ends of the bridge. It is considered one of the beautifully built ancient bridge of the nation, and has been classified as an important cultural relic under provincial protection.
 
--Tuanshan VillageTuanshan Village - centries old,13km west of Jianshui City. Built in Qing Dynasty,  regarded as the Gem of Chinese Civil Houses.Visiting Tuanshan Village is like travelling to another China. Small, cobbled lanes and old women with bound feet blend leave you with impressions of timelessness, art and architecture.

Overnight in the Zhu Family Garden

Day 10 Jianshui - Yuanyang-Panzhihua  (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Jianshui Confucius Temple, Jianshui Swallow Cave, the sunset of Laohuzui Rice Terraces
 
In the morning, visit Jianshui Confucius Temple near Jianshui Ancient Town, then drive about half an hour to the Swallow Cave which is the largest cave in east Yunnan Province. You will walk into the end of the cave, then take the boat back to the entrance. A bare-handed rock climbing show up perilous cliffs can be seen everyday and is arranged by the administrative department. Every year, from August 8 to 18, the "Collection of Bird Nest" activity is staged.
 
Drive to Yuanyang in the afternoon. On arrival in Yuanyang, if you are lucky enough, you will enjoy the sunset of Laohuzui Hani Rice Terraces in Panzhihua Town. Visit the Mengnong Chieftain Palace and stay there in the late afternoon.
 
--Jianshui Confucius Temple
The biggest temple in Yunnan.Located near the north Gate of Jianshui. Its scale is second only to that of the Qufu Confucius temple in Shandong Province and is now one of the provincial historical relics.
 
--Jianshui Swallow Cave
Located in the 30km east of Jianshui, known as one of the biggest and most splendid cave in Asia, consisting of a dry cave ,a water cave and a 30,000sqkm natural forest ,with a total area of 100,000 sqkm. In spring and summer, thousands of swallows fly here from Malaysia,building nests and giving birth to and raising young swallows .Thus it is named "The Swallow Cave" .

Day 11 Panzhihua - Yuanyang (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the sunrise of DuoYiShu rice terraces, Qingkou Hani and Yi villages, local market, Bada Rice Terraces, the sunset of Longshuba Rice Terraces
 
Enjoy the sunrise on DuoYiShu rice terraces. Visit and walk in the rice terraces and several traditional Hani and Yi villages, like Jingkou village. According to the day of your visit, attend a local Yi and Hani market. Sunset at Laohuzui rice terraces.

Day 12 Yuanyang - Hekou - Sapa(B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Hekou Border, SaPa town, the rural hill tribe villages of the Hmong, Dzao and Dzay minorities
 
In the morning, drive to Hekou and cross the border. The Chinese guide will leave you at the border on the Chinese side (Hekou) and you will cross by foot to the Vietnamese side (Lao Cai). After the formalities, you will enter Vietnam where your Vietnamese guide will wait for you and transfer to SaPa town.
 
Stunning trip up a winding road surrounded by steep mountains and terraced rice fields. Lunch at local restaurant. Leisure day to explore the rural hill tribe villages of the Hmong, Dzao and Dzay minorities in the spectacular landscape around Sapa. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in SaPa.

Day 13 Sapa (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Hmong, Dzay and Dzao minorities,Ta Van village
 
Buffet breakfast; enjoy the superb facilities (heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, sauna, massage) and be ready for trekking in the afternoon. Lunch at local restaurant. A 4-km drive by Russian jeep to the rim of a deep valley.
 
Along the road you will see Hmong, Dzay and Dzao minority people dressed in their traditional costumes. A 30-minute walk takes you over a rattan bridge to picturesque Ta Van village, home to all three minorities. Share their daily lives for a rare glimpse into their culture and customs.

Day 14 Sapa – Lao Cai – Ha Noi  (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the San May (Cloud Yard), the panorama of Sapa Townlet, the orchid gardens Ham Rong Mountain
 
Buffet breakfast. Visitors to Ham Rong have chances to climb up the San May (Cloud Yard) to enjoy the panorama of Sapa Townlet, visit the orchid gardens with beautiful and colorful flowers. In addition, Ham Rong Mountain has numerous caves and stones in extraordinary shapes. Have lunch in local restaurant. Free time at leisure. Drive down hill to Lao Cai and catch the train at 20.10 pm to Hanoi.
Overnight in the train.

Day 15 Hanoi City Tour (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: the Hanoi Old Quarter, Ho Chi Minh complex, Ho Chi Minh’s museum, One Pillar Pagoda
 
Content Text6h00, Pick up from the train. Have breakfast. Start of the tour journey visit by coach trip along the Hanoi Old Quarter. After that you take you to visit Ho Chi Minh complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum - the final resting place of Vietnamese great father or uncle Ho, President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house- where Ho lived on and off from 1958 to 1969, then visit Ho Chi Minh’s museum, Where tourists will learn what he has done for Viet Nam and some other countries and learn all kinds of information about President Ho Chi Minh. The next place to move to is One Pillar Pagoda - a group of structures consisting of a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square lake.

Then visit the Temple of Literature which was Vietnam’s first university and is dedicated to Confucius. Then take lunch at Local restaurant.

Afternoon, Free time for Shopping around Old Quarter: Hang Gai, Hang Ngang, Hang Dao streets, Trang Tien Plaza. Right here, you can find many kinds of Vietnamese traditional products like: silk, ceramic, lacquer wares. etc…Enjoy with water puppet show. Have dinner in local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
 

Day 16 Hanoi - Hai Phong(B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Hai Phong, the Cathedral, Garden theatre, Hang Kenh tapestry, Du Hang Pagoda and Kenh temple
 
Drive to Hai Phong, visit to the Cathedral, Garden theatre, Hang Kenh tapestry, Du Hang Pagoda and Kenh temple and then check-in at the Harbour View Hotel.

Overnight in HaiPhong.

Day 17 Hai Phong - Halong Bay - Hai Phong - Hano (B+L+D)

Sightseeing: Cat Ba Island, Halong Bay
 
Breakfast at the hotel. 08.30 Leave hotel to the quay. 09.00 Take off by hydrofoil for Cat Ba Island. 10.00 On arrival move to a wooden boat to cruise the best part of Cat Ba Island and Halong Bay through the limestone islets Seafood lunch on board.

Visit the Halong Bay, discover the Thien Cung and Dau Go caves , 2 of the most beautiful caves of Halong Bay.

Then head to Halong Port for back Hanoi.

Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 18 Hanoi - departure (B+L+D)

You will be free until transfer to airport and departure flight or continuation of your Vietnam round trip.
