Eryuan County Travel Guide

Eryuan County (洱源县) is a county in the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture located in southern Yunnan Province, China.
Eryuan is 73 kilometers away from Dali City.

The sights in Eryuan are beautiful and the scenery of the four seasons is charming. Eryuan is an important part of Dali's tourist resource. The many sights within the county get on very well with each other. The natural sights here get well mixed with the places of interest and historic sites. Eryuan has no cold winter nor summer. The annual average temperature here is 13.9 degree centigrade. All in all, Eryuan is an ideal place for people to spend their holiday.

Eryuan West Lake is located in the foot of Fozhong Mountain which is 60 kilometers away from Dali. It is a plateau freshwater lake and composed of West Lake, Jiangwei, Luopingshan and Luoshijiang View line, with an area of 80 square kilometers.

The lake is 3.3 square kilometers which is plateau lake which is 1.8 meters high as the important water source of Erhai. It was called as the prosperous country in plateau area for the perfect location, abundant fishery resources. In Ming Dynasty, there were a lot of famous persons came here such as Yang Shenan, Li Yuanyang, Yang Nanjin and Xu Xiake who were impressed by the beautiful scenery.

There are six villages included Zhangjiadeng, Qingshuitang, Dongdeng, Zhongdeng, Nandeng, and Haitang. The six villages and seven islands form the beautiful natural scenery with lake in village and village in lake.
