Shutoucai树头菜 or Crateva unilocularis is a native of the tropical Asia. In Hong Kong, it is extensively planted as street and roadside trees on account of its abundance white and yellow flowers, regular shape and the wide spreading crown. It prefers sunny sheltered environment. It can withstand strong wind and grow at any altitude.
It is a kind of wild vegetables which are produced in mountain area like Yangbi, Yongping, Yunlong, Heqing etc. of Dali. The shape likes Xiangchun, which is a delicate point of a kind of umbrella form that stabs the rattan tall tree, fatty, big, fresh and delicate, it is general picked up to eat in spring.
