Lijiang Counties Travel Guide
It is said there is a fairyland beneath the colorful clouds of southern China. A place blessed with fresh air, clear streams, breathtaking snow mountains, and an undisturbed landscape inhabited by a friendly group of people. Life in this fairyland is so peaceful, a fairyland called Lijiang, located at the hub of Tibet, Yunnan and Sichuan provinces.While the geographical position of Lijiang City is remote, it has the advantage of ensuring a pleasant year round climate and a wide variety of tourist resources in the 20,600 square kilometers area.
Lijiang does not have a direct rail link and is reached by travelers by air or by coach. However, having got to Lijiang, visiting round and about is easy with the help of the city buses, taxis or for the more energetic by bicycle. However, please don't forget to save some time to walk in Lijiang. Along your way, you must visit some of the souvenir shops and taste some local dishes and snacks. At night, the famous bar street in the Old Town is really worth a visit. No matter where you go, you will find a harmonious combination of tradition and fashion in Lijiang City.

The Laojun Mountain among the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Three parallel River, Cangshan and Erhai Lake three sightseeing points. The 17km-long gorge is divided into three segments with an aggregate fall of 210 meters. At the opening of the gorge, which is also the mouth of the Jinsha River, a Herculean pebble, about 30 meters wide, seems to be stranded amidst the billowing waves.
Banshan Shitoucheng (Banshan Stone Village) is a fabulous village perched on a sheer hill resembling a stunning cathedral along the tumbling Jingshan River. It is also the trail head of the booming trek to Yongning (near the Lugu Lake).
Located between Ninglang of Yunnan and Yanyuan of Sichuan, 280km north Lijiang, Lugu Lake (Lugu Hu) is known for its peculiar natural scenery and the unique, mysterious culture of the Mosuo people.The place has become something of a legend because of the matriarchal system that it still upholds even today.

Yongsheng County (永胜县) is located in Lijiang City Prefecture, Yunnan, China. Chenghai Lake is located in Chenghai Lake in Yongsheng County, Yunnan Province, Lijiang Prefecture in the territory upper reaches of the Jinsha River valley, east longitude 100. 38-100. 41 north latitude and 26. 72-26 . 38 mountains, is the only Chinese in the world only.
The Lugu Lake is located between Ninglang County in Yunnan Province and Yanyuan County in Sichuan Province, 300 kilometers away from Lijiang County. It is a plateau lake with a total area of 52 square kilometers, 2685 meters above sea level. The average depth is 45 meters, the deepest point being 93 meters. The water is very clear. The lake remains an uncontaminated plateau lake.
Lijiang nestles at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain in the northwestern part of Yunnan Province. For the past thousand years, it has been one of the most famous towns in all of China. In ancient times, it was settled by Nomadic tribes-people. In 1253, the great Mongol leader Kublai Khan established a garrison in Lijiang, from where he headed further south to conquer the State of Dali.
The Old Town of Lijiang, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture, is a central town of the Lijiang Autonomous County of the Naxi Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province. Located on the plateau which is 2,400 meters (7,874 feet) above the sea level and embraced by the tree-covered Lion Mountain in the west, Elephant and Golden Row Mountains in the north, vast fertile fields in the southeast and crystal clear water running through, the old town looks like a big jade ink slab, therefore got the alias the Town of Big Ink Slab (Dayanzhen).
