  1. Lincang Wulaoshan Mountain National Reserve Park0

Wulao Mountain Forest Park is situated in the east suburb of Lincang Town. It used to be regarded as one of the top 10 places of interest in Mian’ning (nowadays Linxiang District of Lincang). The profile of the mountain looks like five immortals sitting together to discuss about the Tao thus the name “Wulao Mountain (Five Immortals Mountain)”. In May 1999, it was approved as a national forest park. Wulao Mountain is endowed with natural sceneries of grotesque rocks, lush virgin forest, waterfalls, lakes, and riot-colored wild flowers, all of which always astonish visitors one after another. Major attractions in Wulao Mountain include Wulao Waterfall, Qingrengu (Lovers’ Valley), Lunianhu (Deer Lake), Jinzulin (Golden Bamboo Grove) Waterfall, and Wufeng Pavilion etc, for which Wulao Mountain enjoys a high popularity among visitors. With a highest altitude of 2538 meters above the sea level, Wulao Mountain exhibits an annual average temperature of 17.2 degrees Celsius, a yearly precipitation of 1160 millimeters and a humidity of 72 percent, making itself comfortable enough to be called a hometown of rich fauna and flora species. The vegetation of Wulao is mainly composed of latifoliate forest but Pinus yunnanensis or Burma pines can also be found. The plants can fall into over 30 families and 100 species including: tree fern, wild tea tree, Yunnan camellia, gentian, Rhododendron, orchid, Tetracentron sinense, Eucommia ulmoides Oliver, Michelia longifolia, and Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, etc, some of which are also exploited as herbals for traditional Chinese medicines (TCM). Wulao Mountain is a paradise of wildlife too. Owl, cape barn owl, Gallus gallus (jungle fowl), woodpecker, cuckoo, sunbird, Lady Amherst’s pheasant, red-billed leiothrix (lover bird), boar, porcupine, wild cat, hare, macaque, and Elaphe taeniura etc all call it home.
