Chinese vendors fought with foreigners in Wenhua Alley, Kunming

A news about "some foreigners’ fighting with Chinese vendors who were later sprayed by a foreigner on Wenhua Alley" was reposted by many weibo users on the night of July 30.

A reporter from InKunming visited the Wenlin Police Station on the afternoon of July 31. According to Xu Shiguang, a team leader in the police, someone reported the fight that occured in front of the Salvador’s, a well-known cafe and restaurant ran by foreigners, at about 10:20 p.m. on July 30. They arrived there and took 6 foreigners and 15 Chinese involving in the case back to the police.

An American man tried to pass through a narrow and crowded street on his electronic bike. Owing to the language barrier and misunderstanding, he squabbled and fought with a Chinese vendor. He hurt his nose in disorder. The American guy later rushed into the Salvador’s. A owner of the Salvador’s sprayed some people who joined in the attack in front of the restaurant, discomforting 15 Chinese people’s eyes and noses.

In the police, they reached a settlement agreement and apologized for each other. The user of spay made compensations for the Chinese people whose eyes and noses discomforted in chaos, totaling in 20,000 yuan.
