Heqing County (鹤庆县) is a county in the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture located in southern Yunnan Province, China.Xinhua Village in Heqing County is well-known for its beautifully natural environment, local conditions and customs and the unique handicrafts. Its long history of making handicrafts began in the Ming dynasty. Recently on the path of reform, the local people have improved their traditional manufacturing and turned to the pattern in which one village is engaged in a profession and one family in a kind of handcrafts. Following this pattern, more than 100 kinds of their products are sold as far as to countries and regions such as India, Nepal, Burma, Thailand, the United States, Taiwan, Tibet, Sinkiang, Sichuan and Guizhou. There are more than 50% of the villagers are engaged in this industry, making a contribution of more than 17,000,000 yuan RMB per year to the village.
