Yunnan 2013 box office surges 34.7% to 326 mln yuan

Box office in Yunnan in 2013 has reached 326 million yuan, increasing 34.7% compared to the data counted in 2012, according to data issued by Yunnan Provincial Radio and Television Bureau.

Twelve cinemas whose box office exceed millions of yuan are all situated in Kunming. As rankings of box office earnings, these cinemas include Kunming Broadway Cinema, Kunming SFG Yonghua International Cinema City, New Kunming Cinema, and Shidai Jindian International Cinema City, etc.

In the whole year of 2013, Yunnan has shown films 460,000 sessions, accepted totally over 9 million audience. Among the shown sessions, number of films that were shown in villages were 154,676 sessions,

Besides, number of cinemas in Yunnan also increased quickly in 2013. Seventeen cinemas were newly added in Yunnan, 11 of which were set up in county-level cities in the province.
