This hike follows the old tea-horse road (souther silk road) north of Dali. We begin hiking from FengYu, a series of small agricultural villages set a lovely valley. We will pass the QingYuan Buddhist cave, and hike 1000 vertical meters into the Flower Valley, which has been settled by Yi minority peoples. The valley has a nomadic feel, and features grazing animals and old farmhouses. Depending on your preference, we will either camp or stay in the local guesthouse. The second day, we will either first hike up to a smaller flower valley or out the south end of the large valley, and down into XiZhou, an historic town about 20minutes drive from Dali. The hike is best done in the spring when the flowers are in bloom, but is stil worthwhile during the rest of the year. (2-3 days)
