By Plane

 

Longyan Airport is an airport in Longyan, Fujian, People’s Republic of China (IATA: LCX). The airport has a handling capacity of 140,000 passengers and 800 tons of cargos. The airport was opened to navigation on April 25, 2004. The Airport is 3.9km away from Liancheng County seat on the north, 106km from Longyan on the north, and 101km from the second largest city Yong’an of Sanming on the east.

 

By Train

   



Longyan Longyan has rail connections to other major cities like : 

* Fuzhou

* Shenzhen

* Ganzhou takes 4.5 hours, train number N520.

* Sometimes the Ganzhou train continues on to Shanghai, passing Hangzhou takes 16 hours, train number K470.

 

Longyan Railway Station lies in the northeast part of Xinluo District, Longyan City, and is close to East Denggao Road. Bus Number One can bring you to the railway station. The Zhangping District of Longyan is situated on the Yingxia railway and is an important channel for Longyan to communicate with other cities.

 

The construction of the 171-km Intercity Express Railway between Longyan and Xiamen begun on 25th December 2006. The railway is designed as double-line, electric, and 200-km/h. The completion of the railway will shorten the distance between Longyan and Xiamen port by 61km. By then, it will only take less than 1 hour instead of nowadays 4 hours.

 

By Bus

     

Longyan is well connected and most cities in Fujian including Xiamen and Fuzhou can be reached from here. The bus station is on Ren Min Dong Road and tickets can be brought at the adjoining ticket office. From Xiamen, there are numerous buses that depart in the early afternoon, however the last return bus departs at 12:30. Buses can drop passengers off at villages or tulous along the way.

 

There are also Number 205 and 391 national highways running across Longyan City. Longyan bus station lies in the bordering part of South Xian Road and Qiaomin Road in Xinluo District

 

Getting around Longyan

 

While there are very rare taxis and motorbikes, they're very irregular, and a traveler would do best to arrange their transportation for the day before starting out. Any lodging should be able to arrange a taxi, additionally there are local travel agencies near the entrance to Hukeng Village. Taxies in Longyan City are either of Xiali brand or Fukang brand; the service price is one yuan per hour.

 

Longyan Highway Transportation

 

It takes 1.5 hours to drive from Longyan to Xiamen via expressway, which connects with the major expressway trunk running through the east coast of China—Tongsan Expressway. Longyan-Changting Expressway connects with Ganzhou of Jiangxi Province, which plays an important role of connecting Fujian with the inner land on the west. The construction of Yong’an-Wuping Expressway, a major road connecting Fujian with the Pearl River Delta, was started on 27 December 2006 and will be completed in 2010. The construction of Zhangping-Yongding Expressway is also on the schedule.
